Challenges When Working with Wood

Plus tips on how to overcome these issues.

One challenge is wood products won’t always look the same. If you’re trying to match a previous order, you may not get it because of the unique characteristics to each piece. Some customers have a lower perceived value initially to wood. All pieces are unique and won’t look the same, so you can’t always match/meet exact specifications of customer. Depending on stain or clear coat, you will have a different outcome for appearance. If it’s stained, it’s much easier to match.

But this is also a selling point – explain to your customer that they have something unique that no one else has.
