Laser engraving photos can be considered a fine art. Here are four tips to help you become a photo engraving professional:

  1. Photo quality: Before the laser comes into play, selecting the right photo is the first hurdle to overcome; therefore, choosing a photo with good resolution and contrast is critical.
  2. Laser parameters: On the laser, best results are achieved by dialing in the appropriate material parameters-selecting the correct speed, power setting and focal length for the material.
  3. Raster algorithms: Depending on the image you would like to engrave and the material you intend to use, it may be necessary to use different raster algorithms.
  4. Image processing: Since the resolution and contrast of your image is critical, it is sometimes necessary to adjust the image to make it suitable for laser engraving. To improve the contrast and/or to make the image clearer, utilize the editing tools in your preferred graphic software package.
